Three summer courses at Southwestern Oregon Community College designed to enhance your professional growth and energize your teaching!
ED 592: Humanizing the Workplace (3 credits)
Relates the research, theory, and practice of humanistic psychology to the workplace, with emphasis on techniques for building a positive-self-concept, resolving conflict, and building effective interpersonal relationships. Presented in a hybrid model, combining face-to-face classes and online discussions and presentations.
Monday, June 16; Wednesday, June 18; and Friday, June 20 from 9 am to 4 pm
ED 512: Research Investigations (3 credits)
Equips students with the necessary skills to become critical consumers of research related to their work. Students apply research findings to problem identification and analysis and develop a research design appropriate for investigation of a relevant workplace or community problem. Presented in a hybrid model, combining face-to-face classes and online discussions and presentations.
Tuesday, June 17 and Thursday, June 19 from 9 am to 4 pm
ED 595: Models of Professional Development (3 credits)
In this course, participants take the challenge to develop and refine their professional skills through the design and implementation of a project that benefits his/her school, district, and /or community. Through this process, educators will reflect on the success of the project and goals for their future. Students can take up to one year to complete their project ONLINE.
