The Stevenson Union contains four resource centers, each serving a particular set of students at SOU. Although each center has different goals, services and events, all the resource centers work together to ensure that all students have access to all the resources they need.
The CRC provides services for the roughly 80% of SOU students who commute every day. In addition, the CRC provides services for students with families, and helps to support veterans and their family and friends.
The MRC focuses on students of color and other underrepresented groups. Study and scholarship information is available, and the MRC assists and mentors students in the McNair Scholars program. Because no student is considered to be without culture, all SOU students are welcomed to the MRC events, programs, and services.
The QRC works as not just a safe space for queer students, but as a resource for the entire campus and local community. In addition to providing meeting space and places to work and study, the QRC regularly hosts fun, educational events for the community to learn about queer culture and to invite the community in learning about how to provide an open and inclusive place for everyone.
The Womens Resource Center is passionately dedicated to improving the lives of women in our community through education and support services. The Center houses a feminist library, provides a safe space for students to relax and study, and serves as a resource on gender, social, and political issues for all students, faculty, staff and community members. WRC peer advocates are committed to providing resources and information for assault victims and support for their decisions. The Center is the official collection site for confidential and anonymous reports of sexual misconduct. Open 9 to 5 Monday through Friday. FMI call 552-6216.
