Preview WeekendsPreview Day

Preview Weekend will introduce you to the many reasons Southern Oregon University is such a special place. You will tour campus and the residence halls, meet with faculty in your major, explore resources and facilities, dine in the Hawk- our brand new dining commons- and, if you choose, spend the night in the SOU residence halls. Parents and guests are welcome. Please refer to our campus map for building locations.

High School Seniors and Transfer Students: You can apply and be admitted at Preview! We will be hosting an Application Workshop in the library and making admissions decisions during the event.* If you would like to apply and receive an admission decision at Preview bring your official transcript and test scores.** For more information about the application process and required documents click on the Apply link on the left.

*Admissions decisions will be made if all admissions materials are provided and all admissions requirements met. **Transcripts must be in a sealed envelope from the issuing institution, transfer students will need to bring transcripts from all current and previously attended institutions.

Preview Day1:00pm-3:00pm- Application Workshop
Drop by and let the admissions staff assist you with your application for admission.

3:00pm-4:30pm- Residence Hall Check-In (Cox Hall)

2:00pm-3:00pm- Financial Aid
This presentation will discuss the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other available aid programs. Financial Aid staff will review the awarding process and timeline and answer questions in an open forum.

3:00, 3:30, 4:00pm- Residence Hall Tours
Take a tour of our brand new residence hall, North Campus Village, led by SOU Resident Assistants.

4:45pm- Student Session
This fast-paced session will kick-off your time at SOU – prizes will be awarded! Students will depart from the welcome session for dinner in the Hawk with current SOU students.

Parent/Guest Session
Connect with administrators, deans, and faculty. Refreshments will be provided.

Dinner (open until 7:00pm)
Enjoy dinner in the Hawk, our brand new dining commons, with the company of SOU faculty and administrators.

Student Evening Activities
Participate in various activities led by current SOU students.

Preview Day

8:45am-9:30am - Check-In and Continental Breakfast (Stevenson Union Foyer)
Enjoy breakfast and refreshments in the Stevenson Union.

9:30am-10:30am- Welcome and Opening Session
Administrators will provide an overview of the program and the opportunities at SOU. A student panel will answer many of your questions.

10:30am- 11:30am- Academic and Information Fair
Explore academic programs, student services, campus resources, organizations and more!

11:30am-12:30pm- Faculty Presentations/ Classroom Sessions
Professors from various departments will present a favorite lecture.

Lunch (beginning at 12:30pm)
Enjoy a buffet lunch in the Stevenson Union.

12:45pm-1:45pm- Campus and Residence Hall Tours
Explore campus facilities and Greensprings/North Campus Village residence hall complexes. Family Housing’s Old Mill Village (Wightman Street) is open for individual drop-in tours. 

1:00pm-3:00pm- Application Workshop

Learn more about accommodations and transition support for students with disabilities and learning challenges at SOU. Discuss how to access campus services and required documentation and how to connect with Disability Resources staff.
