Admissions Criteria for Graduate or Second Bachelor Degree International Students

When making admission decisions, we consider the characteristics of the national system of education and the level of study completed.

Second Bachelor Degree Applicants:

1. Complete the online International-Graduate application for admission.
2. Submit official transcripts from your college(s), including an English-language version.
3. Send a copy of your diploma.
4. Official English Proficiency exam results.

Transcripts and English proficiency results will not be accepted as faxes, scans, photocopies or already opened documents. Documents will not be returned after they are received by SOU.

Graduate (Master's) Program Applicants:

1. Complete the online International-Graduate application for admission.
2. Submit official transcripts from your college(s), including an English-language version.
3. Send a copy of your diploma.
4. Official English Proficiency exam results.
5. Submit official GRE exam results if you are applying to the graduate program in Computer Science, Environmental Education, Interdisciplinary Studies, or Psychology.
6. Complete and submit any additional paperwork as required by the program. See the individual program websites for additional information.*Not all graduate programs will offer conditional admission. Students must submit all other materials before being considered by a department for conditional admission.*

GPA Criteria

1. 3.00 on a 4.0 scale OR
2. 80% on a 0-100% scale

Your GPA will be calculated by the SOU Admissions Office upon receipt of your official documents.

Application Timeline

Admissions decisions are made approximately 4-6 weeks after the receipt of all official documents.
