International Freshman Student Requirements

When making admission decisions, we consider the characteristics of the applicant’s national system of education and the level of study completed.

Freshman Undergraduate Applicants (no college)

  • Complete the online application for admission.
  • Submit official transcripts from your high school, including an English-language version. Depending on your school this may be a transcript, marks sheets, A-Levels, or a Secondary Leaving Certificate.
  • Send a copy of your diploma.
  • Submit official English Proficiency exam results.

Transcripts and English proficiency results will not be accepted as faxes, scans, photocopies or already opened documents. Documents will not be returned after they are received by SOU.

GPA Criteria
2.25 on a 4.0 scale OR
75% on a 0-100% scale

Your GPA will be calculated by the SOU Admissions Office upon receipt of your official documents.

Application Timeline
Application decisions are made approximately 2-3 weeks (10-14 business days) after the receipt of all information. Letters of admission will be delivered to the SOU Office of International Programs (OIP). OIP will work with you regarding the mailing of the admission packet and visa documents.
