Join us in welcoming SOU Chemistry Alumnus, Heather Bailey, as she presents:
Dynamics and Structure of Ionic Liquids: Sustainable Solvents of the Future
Heather will discuss dynamics and structure of ionic liquids, which are salts which remain molten at room temperature. These green solvents have a wide range of applications including batteries, carbon capture, and organic synthesis. In addition, she will talk about her undergraduate experience at SOU and how it contributes to being successful at the graduate level.
Guest Speaker: Heather Bailey received her B.S. in Chemistry from SOU in 2012. She is currently a graduate research assistant and a PhD candidate in Physical Chemistry at Stanford University.
When: Friday, February 16th, 3:30 – 5 pm
Where: Science Auditorium, room 151
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided by the STEM Division.
