Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Museum of Art is hosting a lecture by exhibiting artist Betty LaDuke, whose work entitled Social Justice Continued will be on display in the Museum’s Heiter Gallery from January 18 – March 17, 2018. Betty is a renowned Oregon artist who has spent her career of over 60 years engaged with issues of social justice. LaDuke’s work explores social justice issues related to food production, migration, and sustainability. LaDuke’s art and travels have taken her to Africa, Asia, South and Central America, Europe, and the Middle East, allowing her to develop a unique position as an artist; one who has created a body of work that expresses deep commitment and understanding for the planet and for the rural people whose lives are connected to the land.
