Successful completion of the economics program is not a means to an end, but only a beginning. Because of the wide applicability of economic tools, those who receive degrees in economics have a broad range of choices and much flexibility when deciding on an interesting and challenging profession. Economic majors are involved in corporations and businesses, governments (Federal, State, and Local), as well as consulting firms, public interest groups, not-for-profit organizations, and law firms. These businesses, agencies and organizations actively recruit economics majors for a wide variety of administrative, management, and financial positions. Additionally, some are employed to conduct economic research.
