B.A. in Psychology and Women's Studies,2002, Penn State University; MAT, Special Education and a K-12 Special Education teaching license, 2005, Western New Mexico University; Initial Administrative License, 2013, Southern Oregon University.
Upon being accepted into Teach for America, she accepted a special education teaching position at Indian Hills Elementary School in Gallup, NM. During her tenure, she accepted numerous leadership roles including IEP chairperson and special education department head.
Angela then accepted an instructor and supervisor position at SOU in January of 2008 and continues to hold that position today. She earned her administrative license in 2013. During this time, she has gathered extensive data on her teaching practices in order to improve her skills and better meet the needs of adult learners.
Angela specializes in inclusive education, diagnostic reading instruction, effective strategies for English language learners, and classroom/behavior management. She's also interested in how to create positive school cultures and making data based decisions in order to improve teaching and learning.
