Craig Morris, Vice President, Finance and Administration
Craig Morris was appointed as the Vice President for Finance and Administration at Southern Oregon University (SOU) in July 2009. Craig originally joined SOU in April 1997 as Business Manager for the Physical Plant. Other positions held since then at SOU included Director of Business Services, Director of Facilities Management and Planning, Associate Vice President (AVP) for Fiscal Affairs, and most recently Interim Vice President for Finance and Administration. As the AVP for Fiscal Affairs, he was responsible for planning, directing, and executing the university’s finances.
Craig has served on the SOU Business Affairs Council, Human Resources Advisory Committee, Financial Management Work Group, Technology Council, Student Housing Committee, Enrollment Management Committee, and Student Debt Management Committee. He also serves as a leader and an advocate for SOU in many interactions with the Oregon University System (OUS) Chancellor’s Office and the OUS Controller’s Office.
In addition to his work at SOU, Craig is also very active in community service. He just completed twelve years as a member of the Jackson County Library Advisory Committee, and was recently appointed to the Jackson County Budget Committee. He has also served on the board of directors for Consumer Credit Counseling Services. He was a member of the search committee formed to hire a new superintendent of the Medford School District, and completed a six year appointment to the Medford School District Budget Committee in 1996.
The Mission of the Business Affairs Council is to be responsive to the changing needs of the University by providing people-oriented, technologically enhanced, and fiscally sound operational management to support to the SOU mission.
