Healthy Campus Initiative
The intention of the Healthy Campus Initiative is to work together as faculty, staff and students to create a healthy campus community.
Students and University employees face myriad health issues and concerns. While many are individual in nature, some have population-level effects and can be effectively addressed by the University community. By undertaking a comprehensive Healthy Campus Initiative, SOU can focus resources toward maximum impact on key health-related issues, which include:
- alcohol & other drug use and abuse
- tobacco-related issues, including second-hand smoke
- sexual & relationship violence
- physical health issues, including weight, diet, exercise, and sleep
- mental health & emotional well-being
This initiative will provide for the engagement of the body, mind, and spirit in its fullest capacity. By furthering an understanding of ways to instill healthful habits in our daily lives that enhance success in all of its manifestations, we can develop cohesive alignment with environmental supports.
By partnering with the University on our Healthy Campus Initiative, you can expand your business, access over 7,000 potential clients, share your expertise, and make a tangible impact on the health of the people who make up the SOU community.
