Tuesday, November 27, at 7 p.m. SOU's Department of Health, Physical Education and Leadership will present an extraordinary event featuring Laurie Bagley, a Mt. Shasta resident, mountain climber and inspirational speaker. Ms. Bagley’s presentation will help the HPEL department kick off their new concentration in Outdoor Adventure Leadership. Her multimedia presentation vividly illustrates her summit of Mt. Everest, when she became the sixth U.S. woman to ascend via the North Col route. Bagley’s ascent of the 29,028-foot peak on May 25, 2006 won her a nomination to the California Outdoor Hall of Fame.
In addition to Laurie's presentation, local photographer, educator, and mountain climber, Sean Bagshaw will display some of his outdoor wilderness photography.
The evening of celebration and inspiration is open to students, faculty, and community members. There is no charge for admission.
