Residence Halls

Local calls

Look for the Telecommunications staff in the residence halls during Orientation Week.

The phone jack in your room is already activated.

You will need to provide your own phone. Wait to see if your roommate already has a phone before you purchase one.

The Housing Office will give you your phone number.

Long-distance calls

Request a long distance authorization code from the staff in the Telecommunications Office in Computing Services 117.

Purchase a long distance and/or international phone card and make calls from anywhere, including your residence hall phone. Phone cards are less expensive than using the long distance phone service with your authorization code. You can find them in a variety of places, including in the dormitories and at grocery or convenience stores around town.
