Information Technology (IT) provides a wide range of information resources and technology services to the SOU campus community. The department includes Computing Services, Telecommunications, and Media Services. We support the information technology needs of the campus, by providing leadership in strategic planning for technology initiatives in support of the academic mission.
We provide many services that include Help Desks where all your questions can be answered, training classes, a support team to keep the campus computer labs running smoothly, setup and repair services for Windows and Macintosh desktop and laptop computers; programming for institutional databases like the student information system; email and network services including a large library of software, network storage, backup, and printing; e-learning systems such as BlackBoard; technology equipped classrooms; telecommunications systems; mobile technologies like PDA’s and cell phones, and a wireless network. We also provide consulting services for academic and administrative departments to assist in planning for the information systems needed to run campus operations.
