The Computing Services Department maintains a pool of modems that allows faculty and staff to remotely access the campus network. The SOU Faculty/Staff Dial-up Networking system can be used from home or while traveling. Assuming you have a computer and modem on your home or notebook computer, you can set up your remote connection by simply following the instructions for your type of computer, using the Configuration Wizard below.

All Faculty and Staff have a dial-up account. This account is automatically set up for you along with your network and e-mail accounts. This system is not intended to be used as a complete Internet service. Through it you can browse web pages at the SOU site only, use GroupWise Web access for e-mail, transfer files between your remote computer and your network F: drive, and other campus-related networking activities. Please use the following pages to determine the configuration you need for your System

Specify the Type of Computer/OS you are Using to Connect to the SOU dialup system.

Windows 3.1 no longer supported.
Windows 2000 & XP not yet supported.
