Medford Campus - Higher Education Center
At the Higher Education Center, we provide the services that our Medford students say they value most. We focus on supporting your academic success with advising, testing, financial aid counseling, tutoring, and mental health counseling. Hours are geared toward your busy schedule.
Keep on target, moving toward graduation with the classes you need at the time you need them. Meeting with an academic advisor helps you achieve that goal. Your major advisor is your keystone, but don’t wait! Especially for those transferring in credit from other schools, a general advising appointment even before your first term helps focus your efforts. Create your own path through University Studies requirements, and avoid surprises later.
Call an advisor, or the HEC Welcome Desk, for an appointment:

Financial Aid Counseling
Worried about how you are going to pay tuition? Questions about how living expenses are figured when calculating financial aid? Seeking tips on how to find scholarships? While our academic advisors can answer many basic questions about financial aid, we also have a Financial Aid counselor here at the HEC twice each week. Call the HEC Welcome Desk for an appointment, or drop in:
Tuesday and Thursday 4:00-6:00pm
From placement testing as you first enter SOU, to CLEP exams to test out of requirements, to proctoring exams for your online classes, the SOU Testing Center at the Higher Education Center provides a convenient access point for many SOU students. For more information on all testing services available at our Medford campus, click here to go to the Testing page or choose the Testing link in the menu at left.
