Department of Performing Arts: Music
What a pleasure it was for me to perform my works with the outstanding Southern Oregon University Chamber Choir under the brilliant direction of Maestro Paul French.
This superb choir and its conductor are in the top rank of university chamber choirs in the United States and are greatly admired throughout the choral community.
Their audiences are fortunate indeed to experience such magnificent artistry. Bravo to all!!!

Dedicated to the highest level of ensemble singing, the SOU Chamber Choir has performed to acclaim throughout the west coast of the United States, and internationally in Asia, Europe, and Mexico. In May, 2006 Chamber Choir and the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers performed the west coast premiere of Robert Levin’s completion of Mozart’s great Mass in c minor; a performance praised by Willene Gunn, Director Emerita of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Opera Program as: “measuring up to anything I have heard in any concert hall… anywhere." In 2011, Chamber Choir performed J.S. Bach’s Mass in b minor with Southern Oregon Repertory Singers, a Baroque orchestra drawn from across the west coast, Germany and France, and internationally acclaimed soprano soloist Julianne Baird. Ms. Baird later praised the performances as: “beautiful and inspiring… it was an honor to perform with them." In May, 2012 Chamber Choir’s performance of the music of iconic composer Morten Lauridsen was described by the composer as “ superb… in the top rank of university chamber choirs in the United States."
