Artful Affair Coming to The Schneider Museum of Art
October 08, 2009
It will be an affair to remember as The Schneider Museum of Art at Southern Oregon University (SOU) hosts its ninth annual "Art Affair" on November 14 from 6 to 9 pm.
More than 160 people are expected to attend the "Tableaux d’une Exhibition" or Pictures at an Exhibition fundraiser.
"The Art Affair is our annual fundraising event to support the museum’s exhibitions, as well as its education program," said Museum Director Michael Crane.
A colorful pallet of evening offerings include a sumptuous four-course meal, music by the Back Porch Swing jazz band, a live painting demonstration by local artist Charlotte Abernathy and the eclectic antics of emcee Saxon Warlord Heiland Hoff.
In addition, paddle auctions are planned during the evening to help sponsor exhibitions, as well as out in the community and surrounding region. Cost for the event is $75 per person and seating is limited. Dress is artful evening attire.
"I think the Art Affair event is fun, but it is also about a love for the museum and a love for the arts in general," Crane said.
For more information on tickets for the event call 541-552-6245 or visit the Art Affair website.
