Community Forums
Forums on topics addressing current events and issues are held quarterly on the Medford campus when classes are in session.
Vital Issues Forum
The Vital Issue Forums series features renowned speakers and focuses on topics and challenges facing us today and is generally held annually Click here for a flyer [pdf] showing an example of a recent Forum: "Future Shock: the Longevity Challenge," held April 15, 2012. The recent OLLI Vital Issues Forum "Future Shock: the Longevity Challenge" was a big success. Click here for a resource list [pdf] of organizations that can help address the needs of aging adults.
Community Partnerships
Choosing Options, Honoring Options (COHO)
COHO is a coalition of individuals and community based groups dedicated to helping members of our community understand and honor personal choices for end of life care. COHO offers a series of lectures in April and May which are described here [pdf]. Visit COHO's website: www.COHORogueValley.org.
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Forensics Lab
OLLI team members serve as the educational outreach arm of the world’s only forensics laboratory devoted to crimes against wildlife. To learn about joining the team or to schedule an educational program, contact the OLLI office. Click here for the Forensics Lab website.
ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum
In a mutually beneficial collaboration, OLLI instructors provide adult science courses at ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum. Courses are available to members of both organizations. In fall 2010, OLLI members and ScienceWorks collaborated on a class which resulted in building a da Vinci machine.
