Five Year Plan
2008-2013
The Division of Student Affairs recently completed a reorganization that will ensure we are focused on our vision and mission. This reorganization included the development of a one-stop enrollment services center and enhancements of student support and early intervention initiatives.
Recent accomplishments include:
- Analysis of NSSE data

- Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registrar into Student Affairs division and a comprehensive Enrollment Services Center
- Analysis of NSSE, CIRP, NCHA, and SOU trend data
- Inclusive mission-development process
- Integration of mental health services into the Student Health & Wellness Center
- Introduction of early warning/intervention strategies
- Major recruitment and retention programs reinvented based on data, best practices, and focused institutional messaging
- New leadership for housing/dining and student activities
- Participation in the Foundations of Excellence project
- Inclusive development of a 5-year plan for the division
- Reorganization/remodel of SHWC
- Development and implementation of MySOU portal for increased student access to electronic services and communications
