Art
Fashion and Costume Illustration
Ages 11-14
3 sessions, Saturdays, November 7-21, 1:00-3:00 pm
Have fun creating costume and fashion illustrations for contemporary, historical, and cinematic characters. You will develop costumes for your favorite characters using magazines and other media. Build your drawing skills, stretch your imagination and boost your creativity.

NEW! Manga Characters
Ages 8-12
3 sessions, Sundays, October 11-25, 1:00-3:00 pm
Bring your favorite Manga characters alive by learning to draw detailed hair styles and facial expressions. You will use professional markers and colored pencils to learn ways to color and shade your favorite characters.

College Prep
Conquer the Essay
Ages 15-18
One Session, Saturday, October 17, 9:00 am-noon
Boost your score on the SAT timed essay or enhance your college entrance essay. Build a knowledge bank of specific examples from history, literature, and personal experience. Then practice writing timed essays on a variety of topics. You will develop confidence in your writing, strengthen vocabulary and grammar skills, increase reading comprehension, improve critical/creative thinking skills and expand descriptive writing abilities.

SAT Prep
Ages 15-18
This SAT prep class will provide you with effective strategies for answering both the verbal and math sections of the test as well as honing your writing skills for the essay portion. You will review important subject matter, learn to control test anxiety, learn how to manage your time during the test, and gain helpful tips to have a positive SAT experience. NOTE: SAT study guide is included in the course fee.

Video Game Design
Ages 10-14
Two Sessions, Saturdays, October 17 and 24, 9:00am-noon
Immerse yourself in the world of video games as you delve into the exciting game making process and explore software designed for new media. Learn basic game design concepts while creating your own video game to email to your friends. You’ve been gaming for hours at a time, now be the mastermind behind the game.

All About Acting
Ages 8-12

Learn how to “step into character” and become the part you are playing. You will learn about body movement, improvisation, voice work and other aspects of theatre arts. Develop the actor in you while having fun.

American Idol Junior
Ages 9-13
Two sessions, Saturdays, November 21 and December 5, 1:00-4:00 pm
Take part in the popular world of musical performance. Bring your inner super star as you learn proper breathing techniques, pitch, harmony and diction. You will learn how to sing, dance, act, improvise and audition. Learn how to “sell” your song to the audience with proper interpretation and microphone technique. This class is a non-competitive confidence builder. No Simon here!

Culinary Creations, Fall Inspirations!
Ages 11-14
Three Sessions, Saturdays, October 10-24, 10:00am-Noon
Come get inspired as you learn to create the best foods of the season. Learn a variety of cooking techniques as you create delicious snacks and meals. Broaden your cooking repertoire with ideas and recipes from cuisines enjoyed around the world. You will use a variety of cooking tools and machines as you learn the basics. All levels of cooking experience welcome.

Learn how to make your holiday favorites such as baklava, cookie bars, gingerbread, spice cakes and desserts from around the world. Use special decorating tools to split, fill, frost, create borders, flowers and practice writing. Come ready to have a festive time!

Marvelous “Must Have” Manners
Ages 8-12
Three sessions, Sundays, November 1-15, 2:00-4:00 pm
Learn how to feel more at ease in social situations in this fun, hands-on class. You will learn courteous etiquette for interacting with people and the importance of body language and good communication skills. Learn why we use table manners and how to respond to invitations and write thank you notes. Then try out your new skills at lunch at a local restaurant!

Beginning/Intermediate Golf
Fall is a great time to hit the links. Join in these fun classes designed for beginning and intermediate players. Practice your swing as well as etiquette and rules. Start learning how to play like your golf hero whether it is Tiger Woods, Stephanie Johns or Jason Allred! NOTE: Please bring your clubs if you have them.

Steel rings on steel—away you go into the fascinating world of swordplay. Safe inside a mask and jacket you will learn the skills of “touching” (scoring on) your partner while avoiding being scored on. You also will learn the respect, ethics and camaraderie involved in this ancient and modern sport. NOTE: All equipment supplied.

Hi Ho Horses!
Calling all horse lovers! Learn to ride and care for your favorite animal. These sessions will be held at a local stable with lots of time for hands-on learning of horse care and grooming. Veterinary Medicine
Ages 10-16
One Session, Saturday, November 14, 10:00-11:30 am
Experience the world of veterinary medicine and learn what it takes to be a vet. You will learn the basics of animal health care including nutrition, preventing diseases with vaccines and ways to diagnose diseases in pets. You will also learn about the many treatment options for diseases and injury like surgery and medical therapy.

Instructor Biographies
Craig Honeycutt has a master’s in art education and is a local artist with more than twenty years teaching experience.
Sarah Dalton has a master’s in teaching from Southern Oregon University and teaches Geometry at South Medford High School.
Alana Greene has over thirty years of her love of horses. Her experience includes instruction of horse youth camps, horse massage and riding.
Robert Luaders is an SOU graduate and a energetic computer guru who blends technology with the artistry of life. He is an award-winning vocalist, film composer, and songwriter.
Claudia Michelli has a bachelor’s in fine arts and a master’s in teaching. She is also an artist with more than twenty years of teaching experience.
Chef Marilyn Moore is a Culinary Institute-Le Cordon Bleu Graduate and a Certified Culinary Educator for the American Culinary Federation. She is the owner of Creative Organic Catering.
Russ Saxton is a Class A member of the Professional Golfers Association of America and is the Director of Instruction at Centennial Golf Club.
Andrea Schaffer has been teaching golf locally since 1976. For twelve years she played in Junior and Collegiate Golf on State and National level. For ten years she was a member in Ladies Professional Golf Association Teaching Division.
Dylan Shelton is a salle’s leading fencer and long-time student of the sport and a Southern Oregon Fencing Center instructor.
Dr. Alice Sievers has a B.S. in Biology from SOU, a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University, and currently owns and practices at Bear Creek Animal Clinic.
Jenny Welburn has a BA in English and a master's degree in education from Lewis and Clark College. She is currently teaching English at South Medford High School.
Tyrone Wilson has a MFA from Yale University and is in his 14th season at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland.
