Pre-College/Youth Programs

High School Early Entry

The High School Early Entry program is a program for high school students who meet the qualifications to take courses at Southern Oregon University for college credit and to help fulfill requirements for high school graduation.

Who is eligible?

Juniors and Seniors in participating local high schools are eligible to apply for the program. Students who apply and are accepted must work closely with their high school counselors to make sure graduation requirements are being met and that the SOU classes do not conflict with their high school schedule. Home Schooled students will need to meet with our SOU High School Coordinator. Please call our office (552-6452) to make an appointment. Southern Oregon University staff provide support in registration, course selection and academic counseling for eligible students.

How does the program work?

Interested students apply to their high school counselor expressing interest, detailing career goals and why they believe they would be successful in this program. Counselors review attendance and academic records and interview students. Upon acceptance to the program, students meet with their counselors to design an individual program that fulfills high school graduation requirements and meets students' needs for university course work.
