The Schneider Museum of Art (SMA)
The Schneider Museum of Art is part of the Oregon Center for the Arts at Southern Oregon University (SOU). The Museum provides a vibrant learning experience that engages students, faculty, staff, visitors and community (local, regional and virtual), in a process that embodies SOU’s vision of collaborative, innovative and globally responsive (and responsible) art in the broadest sense. The Museum, which serves as the major regional institution for presenting and interpreting the visual arts in southern Oregon, is a vital force in the intellectual life of Southern Oregon University that promotes an understanding of the visual arts within a liberal arts education. Serving both academic and community audiences, it offers a challenging environment that engages with the visual arts through exhibitions and programs supporting interdisciplinary study, research, and discourse.
The Schneider Museum of Art is located on the south end of Southern Oregon University’s Campus, on the corner of Indiana St. and Siskiyou Boulevard.
