Education for Life!

Outreach & Engagement Programs extends the educational opportunities and resources of Southern Oregon University to people of all ages throughout the region.

PreCollege/Youth Programs include University credit classes for high school students; residential academic camps; and a wide range of classes to explore, discover and dream  for grades 1-12 throughout the year. Research suggests that children who visit a college campus are more likely to become a college student in the future.

Programs for Adults include online non-credit classes; the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI); other workshops/classes; and information about auditing regular University classes.

Professional Development provides workshops for teachers, businesses, and others for Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Credit classes are also available to community members as "non-admitted" students.

To register online for currently available classes, go to sou.edu/takeaclass.

Request to be placed on our email list.

Our Mission: Outreach and Engagement Programs connects the resources of the University with the needs of the community. We collaborate with departments and faculty of the University to meet the professional development and personal enrichment needs of a diverse population. Outreach & Engagement establishes partnerships with businesses, public institutions, and community organizations to provide accessible and conveniently scheduled lifelong learning opportunities for people of all ages.
