Sexual Violence Prevention – Mission Statement
Southern Oregon University’s Sexual Violence Prevention Committee provides multidimensional and multidisciplinary direct-action, education, and support as we cultivate a culture of consent. We are creating a campus where sexual violence is stopped before it has a chance to begin and where all voices are valued and respected.
Consent can be SWEET!
Join us the second Thursday of each month (with the exception of January 20 at 7pm between the women’s and men’s basketball games), beginning in October, for CONSENT CUPCAKES! Follow us on instagram to find out where we’ll be on campus then come by and pick up a cupcake and some fresh way to ask for consent. Try them out over the weekend- you’ll be glad you did!
‘Cupcaking’- Flirting or being flirtatious. Urban Dictionary 2004

Would you like more information about creating a healthy relationship to porn? We are here for YOU and want to hear your voice! Submit your questions here and we will use them to guide future programming.
Get Involved
Prevention is a verb. Preventing sexual violence is an action taken by each of us every day all day. There are many ways to be involved in Sexual Violence Prevention at SOU. You are invited to join our student educator group, participate in a direct-action event, sit in on a committee meeting, host a watch party, or amplify our social media presence, among many other opportunities. Contact Amanda at clarka9@sou.edu and let us know that you’re ready to be part of the solution and help us create a campus culture of consent and safety.
