><p>To be eligible for most types of financial aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">FAFSA<\/a>) or the Oregon Student Aid Application (<a href=\"#orsaa\">ORSAA<\/a>) <strong>each year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Submit your FAFSA as early as possible. <strong>SOU&#8217;s priority deadline is\u00a0February 1<\/strong>. FAFSA submissions after February 1 are still eligible for some aid but may not be considered for certain awards.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"heavy-man\">Who files the FAFSA?<\/span> United States citizens and <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/understand-aid\/eligibility\/requirements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eligible noncitizens<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The FAFSA opens October 1. You must <em>reapply each academic year<\/em> for financial aid.<\/li>\n<li>If this is your first time completing a FAFSA, you and at least one of your parents (if you&#8217;re a dependent undergraduate student) must create an <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/fsa-id\/create-account\/launch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FSA ID<\/a> to complete and sign your application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"heavy-man\">Who files the ORSAA?<\/span> Oregon residents who have undocumented status, including those with DACA or TPS status. Contact the SOU Financial Aid Office to learn about additional opportunities.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/oregonstudentaid.gov\/orsaa-filter.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ORSAA<\/a> opens October 1.
