Community Lecture Series: Cardiovascular Health
OLLI at SOU offers free community lectures that are open to members and the public. Special thanks to Asante for organizing the series and to Steven Hersch, MD, who will serve as its host. All lectures are held on Wednesday evenings from 7–8 p.m. PT via Zoom.
- October 9: Clogged Fuel Lines and Electrical Mischief of the Heart
- Brian Gross, MD, Cardiologist with Southern Oregon Cardiology, will present information on arteries and veins and the role they play in the overall timing of the heartbeat.
- October 16: Purpose, Procedure, and Recovery of CABG Surgery
- Danielle Jacks, MD, Cardiothoracic Surgeon with Asante Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons, will explain the reasons for coronary artery bypass graft surgery and what conditions require this procedure.
- October 23: Unlocking the Secrets of the Heart: When, How, and Why
- Nathan Funk, MD, Cardiologist with Southern Oregon Cardiology, will describe various diagnostic tests for cardiovascular structure and function and what they can tell us.
- October 30: Living to be 100 – Maximizing Your Chances
- Kent Dauterman, MD, Cardiologist with Southern Oregon Cardiology, will provide information on what can be done to keep hearts healthy and strong at any age.
