OLLI at SOU is launching a travel pilot program for members in 2025 to explore interest and offerings. Future plans include a variety of travel options—local day trips, regional overnighters, domestic and international trips.

The OLLI at SOU Travel Pilot Project Team is pleased to offer six travel opportunities in 2025. These include four local/regional trips curated with Ashland’s Main Street Tour company and two USA tours with Collette Travel and Tours. The team is in discussions with two companies about international travel.

Local/Regional Trips

Explore the Rogue Valley and other regional areas with local tour companies. OLLI at SOU is lucky to be located in an area nearby to many different exciting and educational experiences. Check out ROGUETROTTER’s YouTube video on our 2025 trips.

Klamath Basin Guided Birding and Wildlife Tour – postponed until May 3
Highlights include seasonal migrating birds and other wildlife at various locations in the Cascades, Rocky Point, Eagle Ridge, and Shoalwater in the Klamath Basin, Oregon. Click here for complete details and to make a reservation.

Shepherd’s Dream Woolgatherers Carding Mill, and Klamath River Dam Removal Project – April 23, 2025 (1 day)
Highlights include morning guided tour of the Woolgatherers Carding Mill in Montague, CA operated by Ashland’s Shepherd’s Dream owners, Hank and Robin Kearns, and a visit to the Copco1 Dam Removal and former reservoir site to observe ecological changes taking place. Overnight Birdwatching and Wildlife Viewing trip Upper Klamath Lake and the Tule Lake Wildlife Refuge – May 17–18, 2025 (2 days / 1 night)

Branch out and explore areas across the United States. Revisit popular areas you’ve already seen or experience new sites without leaving the country.

Spotlight on San Antonio – April 20–24, 2025 (5 days / 4 nights)
Highlights include Mission San Jose, The Alamo, El Mercado, Paseo del Rio Cruise, Fredericksburg, National Museum of the Pacific Way, and the historic Pearl District, all while staying at a River Walk hotel. Click here for complete details and to make a reservation.
