Certificate in Music Theory & History
The Music Theory & History Certificate offers learners a robust grounding in the examination, historical context, and composition of music across diverse genres.
The certificate caters to individuals seeking to further their education in areas of music, such as performance, theory, history, or composition/songwriting at an advanced level. Furthermore, it facilitates an expedited route to earning a music degree for transfer students and those who are contemplating pursuing post-baccalaureate degrees.
Students will complete their lower division studies in music theory and aural skills, preparing them for the remainder of their degree program. Every student will take courses in conducting, music history, and choose from several courses to specialize their degree: Form, Orchestration, Counterpoint, Jazz Theory, and other courses.
