The Certificate in Music Industry is open to all undergraduate and graduate students, regardless of major, and is also able to be completed as a stand-alone certificate.
Learn about a variety of aspects of the Music Industry including:
- Manufacturing, retail, and wholesale
- The recording industry
- Private studio teaching
- Concert production
- Artist management
- Copyright registration and renewal
- Contractual relationships with songwriters/composers
- Music publishing including domestic and international licensing through recordings, motion pictures, print, and performance rights organizations
- Entrepreneurial strategies including social media marketing and digital distribution channels
The Certificate in Music Industry provides students from diverse backgrounds with a focused curriculum in key aspects of the Music Industry. Students will analyze current practices and trends in the Music Industry, integrate topics and experiential projects from their selected courses, and implement their findings in a final capstone/project.
