Health & Physical Education Teacher Education, Minor
This minor in Health and Physical Education Teacher Education provides students with the skills necessary to teach wellness, sport, and exercise programs.
This minor is designed to prepare the student for entrance into an MAT to continue toward their teaching certification.
Students must meet all of the application requirements listed in the Minor section of this catalog, including the Minor residence requirement. Students must achieve a 2.5 GPS in 24 credits of Health and/or Physical Education coursework to earn a minor in Health and Physical Education Teaching Education.
Students with a Minor in Health and PE Teacher Concentration have gone on to a graduate level program to earn their Master’s in Teaching. Students interested in teaching health and fitness at a recreational camp, school, retirement facility, or community health organization would also benefit from this degree.
