The Human Performance Concentration is a broad field of the Health and Exercise Science Department. In addition to our core offerings in the department, students take a variety of courses specifically designed to provide quality instruction through a curriculum that educates, trains, and prepares the students to enter various careers in the health, fitness, strength and conditioning, research, or exercise data science industries.
This concentration provides students with the knowledge and experience to become certified through national organizations such as the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength & Conditioning Association and/or the National Council of Strength and Fitness by preparing them sit for national exams in the fields of Strength and Conditioning, Personal Training, Sport Nutritional Specialists and other Human Performance Specialists.

As the only school in Oregon to be recognized by the NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP), our program is especially distinguished with standardized, approved strength and conditioning curricula in undergraduate and graduate settings designed to prepare students for the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS) certification.
