The Certificate in Spanish & Latinx Studies is designed for non-degree-seeking students and traditional degree-seeking students with a passion for speaking and learning about the Spanish language and the rich cultural contributions of Spanish-speaking communities in the US and across the world. Students in all fields can benefit by earning this certificate to demonstrate their bilingual and bicultural competence to employers.
Every Spanish and Latinx Studies student will take courses in Spanish language, linguistics, and their choice of cultural studies courses, which include the analysis of history, art, film, music, literature, and current events. These courses are specialized to broaden their understanding of the complexity of the Spanish-speaking world while sharpening their critical thinking skills.
