Program Preparation
The Summer Language Institute is designed for French or Spanish middle school, high school, and community college teachers who have taught for at least one year.
Degree Roadmap
The program director works closely with each participants to map out a course outline, to ensure completion of all the requirement with the desired sessions. Advising is individual and ongoing.
Action Research
Master’s students design and implement a final research project. They begin by identifying an aspect of their own teaching they want to improve. They begin with a class in their second summer and continue during the following academic year by conducting research within their own classrooms. The project culminates in a formal paper and a presentation given in their final summer.
