Learn Workday

As SOU makes the transition to Workday Student, faculty and staff will have multiple opportunities to develop the skills needed to navigate the new system effectively. We encourage all faculty and staff to take advantage of the tools and sessions provided to ensure a smooth transition to Workday Student. Look for announcements about upcoming resources to help you get up and running in the new system!

Our comprehensive training program will include:

• In-Person Training: Hands-on sessions with subject matter experts.
• Virtual Training: Live online sessions covering key processes and functionalities.
• Self-Paced Learning: Online modules that allow you to learn at your convenience.
• Quick Tip Videos: Short, targeted videos addressing common tasks and processes.

To ensure our resources are relevant and practical, training leads from key functional areas are developing relevant and practical training materials. These areas include:

Fine Tuning

The development of support for learning Workday Student will be further informed by the results of two key testing phases:

User Readiness Review (URR)

Faculty and staff will have opportunities to engage with Workday Student in a structured testing environment, providing direct feedback on workflows and system functionality. Insights gained from URR will help refine our support resources and identify areas where additional information may be needed.

• The first URR phase (August 2025) will focus on recruiting, admitting, and matriculating students for Fall 2026.
• The second URR phase (December 2025) will cover processes for supporting new and current students from registration to graduation.

Mock Quarter

This testing cycle simulates real-world academic scenarios, allowing end users to practice using Workday Student in a controlled environment before full implementation. Lessons learned during the Mock Quarter will be incorporated into our resource materials to ensure all users—students, faculty and staff—are fully prepared for go-live Fall term 2026.
