The School of Business offers hands-on experience in diverse local businesses and nonprofit organizations. International exposure comes from students from around the world and study abroad programs. The School of Science and Business at Southern Oregon University supports academic programs, scholarship, and community-based projects focused on solving real-world problems. A coherent, integrated curriculum within the functional areas of business emphasizing the increasingly global nature of the business environment, ethical conduct in business decision-making, and technological competency;
A requirement that students demonstrate the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner. These communication skills are refined through oral class presentations, written assignments, and the development of a comprehensive business plan that serves as a senior capstone project;
A foundation in the liberal areas and sciences supplemented with a required non-business minor, an interdisciplinary certificate, or a year-long study abroad experience;
A dynamic set of academic offerings consisting of business concentrations, business co-majors, interdisciplinary certificate programs, and a comprehensive degree completion program;
A requirement that students earn internship credit or engage in practical undergraduate research in the business community;
Accessible programs available to all qualified students through day and evening courses offered at multiple locations and online;

A degree in Business Administration develops you into an open-minded, responsible citizen with skills to carry you throughout your career. You can travel the world, start your own successful business, and inspire those around you. In this program, you will practice interpersonal skills, professional judgment, and time management in addition to mastering many tangible skills involving software programs, finance, marketing, and accounting, just to name a few. In short, the Business Administration degree teaches you to become a leader in any industry. Our graduates are enjoying very successful careers all around the Rogue Valley and the world. The program offers students the option to further develop their managerial skill sets and competencies in four option areas: Marketing, Management, Hospitality & Tourism Management, and Accounting. The Accounting option offers two tracks – Management Accounting and Public Accounting. The latter is intended for students planning to take the CPA examination.

Undergraduate Dual Degree
Students in this program earn both a business degree from SOU and a degree from one of our partner universities in Germany (Hochschule Harz or HTW Saarlandes). The program of study can be completed in four years, with a year of study at one of the German universities during a student’s Junior or Senior year. Business classes are taught in English.
Graduate Dual Degree
In just one year (4 quarters) students can earn an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from SOU and a Master in International Management from HTW University in Saarbrücken, Germany. All classes are taught in English.
Students can earn an MiM (Master in Management) from SOU and a Master in Management from Universidad de Guanajuato in Guanajuato Mexico.
