SOU has “rolling admissions” meaning you may apply and be admitted anytime throughout the year. We ask for two to four weeks to guarantee a thorough review of your application. Our priority application date for fall term is February 15th.

Step 1:  Apply Online

You can pay the $60 application fee through our online application, or, if you are eligible, you may defer your application fee. This form can be brought into the Office of Admissions, mailed to the address listed below or emailed to admissions@sou.edu

Step 2:  Submit Required Documents

  • Official SAT or ACT scores
    Official test scores need to be sent to the Office of Admissions by ACT or the College Board. Scores are also considered official if they are present on your high school transcript.
  • Official high school transcripts
    Submit official high school transcripts. If you have completed any college-level work, (this includes any Running Start, college in the high school classes, etc.) request official transcripts from those institutions to be sent to the Office of Admissions as well.
  • All documents should be submitted to: Southern Oregon University/Office of Admissions 1250 Siskiyou Blvd. Ashland, OR 97520.

Step 3:  Submit Supporting Documents

To improve your candidacy for admission, you may submit academic letters of recommendation, counselor recommendations, a resume, writing sample, or similar supporting documentation. These documents can be emailed to admissions@sou.edu, mailed to the above address, faxed, or brought in to the Office of Admissions. 

Priority Application Deadlines:

Fall quarterFebruary 15th 
Winter quarter- December 12th

Spring quarter- March 3rd
Summer quarter- May 23rd
