SOU Admissions Here and Now
Students that would like an admissions decision within a matter of hours have the opportunity to apply on the spot! Our “Raider on the Spot” option is available exclusively during our Virtual Information Sessions, regularly scheduled campus tours, and at official preview events.
Free Application Fridays: Sign up for a Virtual Information Sessions or campus tour on a Friday†, then prepare your application for admission using our Raider On The Spot guidelines. We’ll waive the $60 application fee when you apply on the spot during Virtual Information Session or a Friday tour!
Step 1: Apply Online Before Your Visit
Review the Freshman or Transfer admissions requirements, complete the online application and pay the $60 application fee* BEFORE attending your scheduled tour or preview event.
Step 2: Submit Required and Supporting Documents In Person
Submit your required and supporting documents to admissions via email at admissions@sou.edu or place them in our secure drop box at the Admissions office before your Virtual Information Session, tour or preview event begins.
Freshmen: Unofficial high school transcripts are required.
Transfer: Unofficial college transcripts are required.
Step 3: Receive an Admissions Decision On The Spot
At the end of your tour or preview event, admissions staff will provide your admissions status and answer questions about next steps.
† Our campus tour schedule may change due to holidays, on-campus events, or campus closures. Friday tours may not be available on certain dates, such as Preview Day, Preview Weekend, or summer Raider Ready events. However, we will still waive the application fee for students visiting campus on these days.
* Eligible students may defer the $60 application fee.
