The SOU Chemistry Program offers American Chemical Society-approved programs in chemistry and biochemistry, as well as a BS program in forensic chemistry.

Concentrations: Chemistry BS/ACS Accredited Curriculum, Biochemistry BS/ACS Accredited Curriculum, Forensic Chemistry BS, Chemistry BA
Students majoring in chemistry typically enter positions in private, academic, or government laboratories, or they enroll in graduate or professional schools. There are outstanding opportunities for graduate study in chemistry.

Offered as a Secondary Discipline Minor
The chemistry minor provides a solid background in chemistry for students choosing to pursue other major fields and careers in STEM and the health sciences. A minor in Chemistry consists of a year of General Chemistry plus student selection from a variety of upper division courses.
