EDMA 10th Anniversary: Alumni Spotlight
Sharnae Greene – 2019 Graduate, Graphic Designer for VXXXV Apparel
“In Sept 2017 I started my journey at SOU as an Art major. I went thru one full term and realized I wanted more. I wanted to expand my skills and pushed myself into the digital world. Then someone introduced me to EMDA and I fell in love. I fell in love with the teachers and the diversity of the program. I felt like I finally found the perfect fit for me. One of the things you’ll find with EMDA is that it has such a diverse curriculum and it continues to expand each year. I was able to explore everything from sound to coding and even video. EMDA made me find what I loved within its program while still teaching me other skills that are useful today. In August 2020 I was lucky enough to be offered a job as a graphic designer for a clothing company based in Philadelphia called VXXXV Apparel. There I do a wide range of projects such as promotional videos and social media. I also volunteer my time as a graphic designer for Rose City Rollers where I got the chance to design a trucker hat which has become one of my proudest accomplishments this year. I am so thankful for this program because I use skills taught to me by its teachers every day. I have an amazing backbone of skills that allow me to push myself to do more than just graphic design. I absolutely love this program, here’s to one decade down and forever to go! Thank you!”
