Emerging Media/Digital Arts

The EMDA program is designed to meet the challenges facing contemporary creative industries and is built around a culture of collaboration and experimentation. In addition to hard technical skills, EMDA students develop their ability to think critically and analytically, convincingly articulate and present their ideas, and organize and manage complicated long-term projects.

Collaboration is a core EMDA value. EMDA Foundations courses are team-taught to ensure trans-disciplinary perspectives. During the course of the year, faculty collaborate with students, employers, assist with developing projects, performances, and facilitating internships.

EMDA provides a flexible, creative environment students for students to graduate not just with technical skills and a strong portfolio, but also a sense of how they best work with others, an understanding of the challenges that go along with completing complex projects, and concrete examples of people who have succeeded in the fields that interest them.
