The major in Emerging Media/Digital Arts Arts combines interdisciplinary research and activity with a range of technical skills for the creation and evaluation of digital media. EMDA majors engage in all stages of the production process while working with university and community partners to develop best practices for digital media in our society.

Design and develop innovative, real-world projects in a professional studio environment. EMDA students engage in interdisciplinary studio activity and research while learning a range of contemporary technical skills to create the future of digital media. Whether creating and coding your own virtual reality world, developing and fabricating a working 3D product prototype, designing a brand for a startup company, drawing and animating an online comic book, or producing an award-winning video, EMDA provides the tools to help you succeed.
The EMDA Capstone is an opportunity for students to create a bridge to the work they plan to do after they graduate. The Capstone class provides a workshop environment for students to complete a serious piece of work, polish their portfolios, research contemporary best practices, explore opportunities after graduation, and formally present their work to others.
