OAL Spring Immersion 2018: Bend and North Umpqua

Mountain biking trip to Bend.
We traveled to Bend, OR, one of the mountain biking meccas of Oregon and practiced base camping skills involving kitchen set up, campsite selection, properly disposing of waste, and working on fundamental mountain biking skills such as cross-country riding techniques, proper mechanics, trail navigation, differentiating skill levels, bike maintenance skills peer feedback.

North Umpqua
We traveled to the North Umpqua to practice base camping skills involving kitchen set up and breakdown for a large group, working on fundamental rafting and leadership skills such as paddle boating, oar boating, river navigation, whitewater swimming techniques, interpersonal skills, running shuttles, logistics, and enjoyed the local hot springs.
