SOU Student-run Organic Gardening
The SOU Community Garden is a student-run organic garden located on the corner of South Mountain Avenue and Henry Street, next to parking lot 36, at Southern Oregon University in Ashland Oregon. The SOU Community Garden rents out garden plots to both community members and SOU students.
The purpose of the SOU community garden is to maintain a space where community members and the SOU community can learn from each other and practice organic gardening in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Student garden coordinators work for SOU and help maintain common spaces, work on projects, communicate by email with Gardners, and oversee garden administration.
Maintenance and other expenses are paid from membership fees and a budget from the Student Incidental Fee; accordingly, the annual $40 membership fee is waived for currently enrolled SOU students. Coordinators can be reached by email at communitygarden@sou.edu .
SOU Community Garden Sign-up
