The Student Sustainability Center hires for paid student positions late winter/early spring for the following academic year. Open positions will be advertised via Handshake and through our email listserve (below).

The SOU Community Garden frequently has paid Garden Assitant positions available for students with Federal Work-Study as part of their financial aid award. Email sjec@sou.edu to inquire about Garden Assistant openings throughout the year.

Sustainability Interns Program
The Student Sustainability Center offers unpaid volunteer internships during winter and spring quarters each year. Student interns work on teams together with a student team lead, in each of our focus areas (Earth Week Planning Team, Zero Waste/Dish Loan Team, Transportation Options Team, Real Food Commitment Team, Civic Engagement and Service Team, Community Garden Team). Participating in internships for academic credit is optional. Credit requirements vary depending on academic major, so if you are interested in becoming an intern to fulfill a major requirement, be sure to inquire with your academic advisor to find out what is required.
