What Raiders Love Most About SOU
Southern Oregon University (SOU) and the city of Ashland offer a variety of things for students to do. From the great outdoors to local events, we have something for everyone!
Here’s a list of Raider favorites:
- Take a walk or pack a picnic to enjoy in Lithia Park.
- Go to the Rogue Valley Growers Market for the freshest fruit, flowers, veggies, and tasty treats.
- Relax at Stevenson Union with a snack before studying.
- Attend the First Friday Art Walk in downtown once a month.
- Hike in and around Mt. Ashland or enjoy skiing during the snowy season.
- Schedule a group study session at Hannon Library.
- Take in a show at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival or the Oregon Cabaret Theatre.
- Dine at Oberon’s or visit the Tudor Guild Shop for Shakespeare fans.
- Fish or paddle along the lower Rogue River.
- Follow the rim trail around Crater Lake to take in magnificent views.
- See contemporary art at the Schneider Museum of Art.
- Find a quiet moment in the stately Ashland Library.
- Sip a drink at one of the many cafes in town.
- Walk around downtown to look at boutique shops.
