Meet Acey Reyes, Marketing Manager and SOU Business Undergrad
Hi, My name is Acey Reyes and I am currently a Junior at Southern Oregon University. I am pursuing a major in Business Administration with a focus on Management and a Minor in Economics. I am originally from Hawaii but have been living in Oregon for the past three years to further my education and broaden my network outside of Hawaii. I come from a very small Island in Hawaii named Molokai. Like Ashland, Molokai is very small which was one of the reasons why I chose to attend SOU.
Before attending the university, I had never been to Oregon. So when I traveled to Oregon to visit Ashland and tour SOU that was my first time coming to this state. Moving to Oregon has been a big transition for me and attending SOU has made the whole process easier. Since Ashland is a small town, it is similar to my hometown and gives me a sense of security.

Everyone here is very friendly and I have built relationships throughout the years that taught me so many different things. Although SOU is a small school, there are many different events and opportunities offered to us students. What sets SOU apart from other Universities is the culture and environment. Not all universities give you the opportunity to connect one on one with your peers and professors. Everyone here wants to see you succeed and are willing to help you reach your goals.
I chose to attend Southern Oregon University off of no prior knowledge, but looking back I know I made the right decision.
