English Minor
Whether your interests are in literature, pedagogy, or professional writing, come see why an English minor is for you.
If you want to cultivate your writing skills for work in Marketing, Business, and/or the non-profit sector, the English minor is for you. For students majoring in Education, the English minor provides pedagogy classes in writing and literature. Because literature makes people’s experiences real to us, students studying in the Social Sciences can expand their knowledge base of social problems and lived existences.
Students in the English minor complete 24 credits in the English Program. English minors take English 301: Introduction to Literary Analysis and Theory and five electives of their choice.
Many students are delighted to find that an English minor complements their major. Whether a student is getting a degree in Business, A Social Science, or Education, an English minor degree can enhance a wide range of field specific studies and make a graduate more agile and competitive on the job market.
