The INL Program offers adult learners the opportunity to complete their bachelor’s degree using the relevant work experience they bring to the table while honing their skills into an innovative work field.

Finish your degree without interrupting your work. The Innovation and Leadership degree is a Bachelor degree designed for working professionals who are emerging leaders within their organizations. The degree is employer designed, built to deliver the skills that innovative employees need to thrive in their workplace in a pathway that employees can complete while working full time.

Innovation and Leadership is for people who have:

One to two years of previous college experience;
At least five years of work experience beyond the entry level if you wish to pursue the accelerated in person courses.

Program Outcomes

As a student who graduates with a Bachelors of Science in Innovation and Leadership,

You will explore and apply effective personal, group and organizational leadership styles.
You will become proficient in innovation and entrepreneurial thinking by applying skills in emerging media, business analysis and human centered design.
You will evaluate organizations from a variety of perspectives including financial, ethical, cultural, and strategic.
You will learn how to communicate effectively in a range of contexts relevant to contemporary professional practice.

How to Apply

Apply to SOU: Contact the Office of Admissions to pursue steps to gain admission to the University. In your admission application indicate that you want to be in the Innovation & Leadership (INL) program.

Determine whether you want to apply for the online or classroom-based degree.

Online: Fill out the INL Online Application Form.

Classroom: Fill out the INL In-Person Accelerated Application Form, write a short (max 500 words) statement addressing how this program relates to your career goals, and how your prior work and educational experience will contribute to a rich learning environment in the classroom, submit the application, essay, and your resume.
