Military Science Programs
The SOU Department of Military Science provides on-campus military science instruction that is open to all students without military obligation.
Offered as a Secondary Discipline Minor
The SOU Military Science minor provides a broad academic approach drawing on Political Science, History, Communication, International Studies, Geography, Education, Psychology, Criminology, Psychology and Philosophy as well as Military Science. It is designed to produce an effective understanding of the political, social and geographical factors that shape modern military policy, and tactics.
Offered as an extracurricular program
Army ROTC is an elective program that is the largest producer of officers for the U.S. Army. It is a curriculum that provides you with the necessary tools to succeed in college and a military career. Participation in Army ROTC consists of a 2-4 year advanced leadership experience depending on your academic and/or military status.
